Superdrug Calm Skin Serum & Moisturiser Review

Hello everyone!

I'm back with a review after a while.

I've been to Italy for 3 weeks to enjoy time with my family since I'm on maternity leave 💖

Now we all know that taking care of our skin in summer is a bit of a hustle.

Late nights, sea water, the heat, the sun, not feeling like taking off our make-up several times and other factors all contributed to making my skin show some irritation and break outs in a few areas of my face.

And of course having sensitive skin doesn't help at all!

I will talk probably on another post about the stress of carrying only selected liquid items on a plane - meaning my skincare was poor for 3 weeks and often I used products that my mum or my sisters bought for themselves (meaning they were not necessarily suitable for sensitive skin).

But today I want to focus on my life-saver!

A couple of weeks before flying to Italy I popped into Superdrug as per my usual morning walk routine knowing I had to find something suitable for my situation:
* small size
* suitable for sensitive skin
* calming effect on break outs and irritated area
* not expensive

Among many products, my sight was caught by this Calm Skin Skincare Hydrating 2-in-1 Serum & Moisturiser which is suitable for all skin types really.

First of all, it comes in a 50ml size tube and it's clear with a light blue label where all information are written.

It has a pump on the top, so it's very easy to get the product out and you only get what you need, which I found very helpful.

I usually like to read carefully what a product does for your skin so I will share with you what this serum does and some of the key ingredients.

This product is a de-stress serum and moisturiser that 'targets the visible signs of stress on the skin' and it has a very light and fresh scent.

How does it work?

It contains Chamomile, Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide.

Now we have all heard of Chamomile and Hyaluronic Acid, but if you like me have never heard of this Niacinamide ingredient before, you should know that it helps restore the skin, helps with enlarged pores as well as uneven skin tone - it clearly is a great ingredient!

As per usual, you can find safety advice and directions for use on the back of this tube.

The product should be used mornings and evening on cleaned skin, with circular motions until the serum is absorbed, which won't take long as the serum comes in a very light consistency and it's very easy to spread and absorb - consider I only use 2 pumps each time.

It says that results are visible in 4 weeks time, but I found my skin clearly less irritated after a couple of days already, but this might be different for each person.

I also want to say that this is a great way to moisturise my skin and I've used it before my make up as I would normally do, with great results, not affecting the performance of powders and other products I use.

Last but not least, this product is affordable for everyone!
It costs only £ 2.99 and it's lasting me quite a while, so I'm very happy about this too.

This Calm Skin serum is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
