Bright Copper Colour Refresh - Maria Nila Review

Have you ever thought that a change in your hair life is needed but, like me, you came to appreciate your hair and are now afraid of a drastic change?

Well, this was me.. and I think it still is me.

I really appreciate my hair, specially now that it's glowing and long and all that (one of the positive things of pregnancy!).

But still, there were times that I felt like I needed an extra kick and that's why I decided to try something new to me.

So, after some research on what kind of colour I could use (I wouldn't have used just any, as I'm pregnant), I found out about this Colour Refresh by Maria Nila.

Yes, it's designed for coloured hair, to enhance and brighten up the colour your hair is suppose to have after you've already dyed your hair, but I thought that it could be nice to still give it a go.

This product comes in a 300ml small bottle (the design is very modern), and it has all the instruction you need to follow on it, along with all the information about the company.

In fact, this product is:

  • 100% vegan & cruelty free
  • non-permanent colour
  • sulphate & paraben free
  • contains softening Argan Oil
  • colour guard complex
  • produced in Sweden
This short list surely made me more likely to use this instead of any other non-permanent colour.

First of all the fact that is sulphate and paraben free made a bit more sure that I wouldn't cause any damage or put on my skin harsh chemicals.

Second, is there anything better than some Argan Oil treatment to make your hair softer and give it some glow?

So now, the only thing I had to decide was: what colour do you want your hair to be?

As I didn't want a drastic change, and as my husband so many times insisted I tried some red dye for my hair, I opted for the Bright Copper one (note that my hair is a dark blonde colour with some natural highlights).

I read some review about it prior buying it of course and checked if I could use it on non-coloured hair.

Nothing was stopping me!

So here I am with my thoughts on this product.

I followed the instruction the bottles had written on it, so I washed my hair with shampoo, towel dried and put on my gloves.

The colour of this creamy product is bright and rich, the scent made me think I was in a saloon having a hair treatment (must have been the Argan Oil).

So I started applying the mask on my hair, using my fingers, with the help of a comb when needed.

It took me quite a while to cover all my hair (I have long hair), but I was too excited to see the results to think about the time it was taking me.

I ended up using half of the product contained in the bottle and then I was supposed to wait for 3 to 10 minutes, but, as I was not sure the colour would stick onto my hair since I had no colour before, I tried it for a little longer (30 minutes probably).

After these 30 minutes, I finally rinsed the product off with some warm water and applied my usual conditioner.

I usually let my hair dry naturally, so it took a while before I could see the actual results, but once dry, I can say I was quite happy with the results.

I know that my hair not being dyed made a lot of difference on the results, but I could definitely see highlights and an interesting shade of copper red.. Even my husband saw the difference!
And, on the plus side, my hair felt really soft and nourished.

These are the pictures I took before and after my experiment:
No make-up Friday!
Please don't mind my sleepy face 🙈

- Please note that both pictures were taken at a window to have the most of the sun light.

Probably, now that I've tried this product and colour, I fell I'm definitely more open to a more permanent change, but of course I will try other products before, just to give it a go and have something to talk about 😉

What do you think about this Colour Refresher by Maria Nila? Have you tried some of their products before?
