Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula - Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks Review
Hey girls!
Today I want to talk about this issue that many of us have: stretch marks.
These stretch lines appear when our body changes in a short period of time (both gaining weight or losing weight).
To prevent that our skin needs to be given some extra care and the right products.
This is why I would like to share my experience with Palmer's lotion for stretch marks.
I bought this product to use specifically during my pregnancy.
First of all note that all I've used before buying this specific product to fight these marks on my body was some sweet almond oil every now and then and I didn't have many lines visible on my body.
With my pregnancy advancing, I thought that I didn't want to be caught unprepared and I bought this ally not only to reduce the stretch marks I had, bus specially to prevent more to appear.
This product has a white plastic packaging with a dispenser, which makes it easier to get the product out. It has a good amount of information about the ingredients and benefits on the front and tips on how to use it on the back (which I found helpful).
The consistency of this lotion is very rich and smooth and is really pleasant to massage onto the skin, specially because the scent is sweet and makes you feel pampered straight away.
The good thing about this lotion is that you don't need a big amount of product to cover a wide area, so one tube goes a long way.
What's inside and why does it work?
This lotion is enriched with many ingredients that are key to a great skin:
*Cocoa Butter
*Vitamin E
*Shea Butter
*Bio C-Elaste (a combination of Collagen, Elastin, Centella Asiatica, Sweet Almond Oil and Argan Oil)
This product is also hypoallergenic and has no artificial colours, so it's great also for sensitive skin, but as stated on the packaging, you should always test the product on a small area beforehand as pregnancy can make your skin more sensitive (this is important for all products you use).
It's clearly stated on the packaging Palmer's that this products:
- helps improve elasticity and suppleness of stretching skin
- is suitable to be used during and after pregnancy
- is recommended for stretch marks associated with weight fluctuations
The directions they suggest is for this lotion to be used 3 times a day to see great results.
Now, maybe some of us has enough time or patience to use a lotion 3 times a day, but I definitely couldn't use it while I was at work, so I decided to use it as follows:
* 2nd trimester - once a day: in the morning after the shower.
* 3rd trimester - twice a day: in the morning and in the evening before going to bed.
That being said, I can happily tell you that I haven't seen any stretch marks appear on my skin during my pregnancy and of course I'm very happy about it.
But if I can give you a bit of advice, keep using the lotion after giving birth.
Your body will go back to normal and you will lose weight again, so it's important to keep using it for skin elasticity.
I'm saying this because I stopped using this lotion after birth for a while and noticed some stretch marks under my breasts.
So I started using it again and now they are a lot less visible.
I want to conclude and recommend this product. It really does what it says, helps skin elasticity, prevents and reduce stretch marks appearance.
I will definitely buy it again and keep using it when needed.
