Nivea - Goodbye Cellulite Gel-Cream Review

The fight against cellulite is something every woman has experienced at least once in her life.

It's in our top 5 list of enemies!

Personally I've always tried to fight it with oils, scrubs, eating healthy and drink lots of water.

But it's not easy to find what actually works for us and then be constant.

That's why I keep trying new lotions to help me fight it.

Lately I've been trying this Nivea Goodbye Cellulite Gel-Cream and I want to share with you my experience.

This product comes in a tube of 200ml and has a gel-cream consistency in a bright blue colour that has a nice scent (at least to me). It's kind of refreshing and pleasant.

Important to note that the formula contains coenzyme Q10, L-Carnitine and Lotus extract, key ingredients for a healthy looking and energised skin.

Applying the product is easy and not much product is needed to cover a wide area (i.e. upper legs) - of course this might be different for each person.

The downside of it being part gel is that the skin feels slightly sticky to the touch just after the product has been applied. This feeling however doesn't last too long.

Nivea promises that this firming lotion will help firm and reduce appearance of cellulite without an extra massage, as well as giving your skin feel energised.

Here is what I think about it and if it actually delivers what it states.

* 'Instantly leave your skin feeling more energised' : I can agree that the fresh scent and the texture of this lotion does make me feel this way about my skin - but remember this is a 'feeling' so might not be the same for everyone.

* 'Noticeably improve skin's firmness in 2 weeks' : about the firmness I can neither confirm or deny. This depends a lot on a person's diet and workout regime.
For me personally, having had a baby recently, as my body is changing very fast to get back to where it was before giving birth I can see a slight change in firmness. My skin feels more firm after 2 weeks, but keep in mind that I'm exercising and walking every day (I'm not running a marathon but I'm not at home all day either), so this can not be solely attributed to the use of this lotion.

* 'Reduce the appearance of cellulite in 3 weeks' : on this point I have to say I was expecting a bigger improvement. I noticed some change, but my expectations were higher. My cellulite hasn't really reduced, but its appearance is somewhat less compared to 3 weeks ago when I started.

I need to say that I applied this product once a day, in the morning, for the past 3 weeks. I think you might see a bigger improvement if you apply it twice a day, but I couldn't commit to that.

Now the fact that it should work without extra massage was something I didn't believe too much, since massaging your legs or other affected area is a key part in reducing cellulite, but since that was promised I didn't massage much more than what I would normally do with any other body lotion.

Overall this product helps energise and firm the skin surely and if used constantly can reduce some appearance of cellulite, but bare in mind that a lot will depend on the intensity of your cellulite and other factors such as your diet, your hydration and your lifestyle.

I can say that this product does somewhat what it says, but reducing the appearance of cellulite and reducing cellulite are two different things.. So the enemy still remains.
