How Writing and Reading Helps Me Focus
Books, Notebooks and Laptop - so many ways to keep my brain active |
But, how do I get to do other things and activities, pursue my hobbies while having quite a busy routine?
First of all, I need to be willing to 'sacrifice' my lazy moments in order to benefit my hobbies.
I know this sounds so easy to say, but how do I actually do it when I feel already sleepy at 9pm?
What I like to do in this case is to write things down, maybe as a list of things to do/focus on.
I like to write down specific achievements and also give myself a term by which I should have done all the above.
For example I would write down something like "go for a walk in the park with the camera and take pictures at least once a month".
Write down all your thoughts, it doesn't matter how silly they sound at first |
This way, I know I don't have to do it today, but I have a specific timeframe I need to make sure is followed.
I also like to write down my thoughts on what may or may not work out for me, or maybe things I would like to know more about and do some research on.
This way, when I go back to my notes, I can thick off or highlight what has been done and remind myself of what I need to keep working on.
Another way that helps me focus and feel more mentally active is reading.
Nothing is better than a nice relaxing reading!
Coffee, croissant and a book. Perfect combination |
I found that my brain is more active if I constantly read something and it also helps me to extend my knowledge on any kind of matters as well as extend my use of the English language.
It gives me new ideas, new forms and it challenges me to give and do more.
I hope this was helpful and you will find yourself in a similar situation, where you feel that you are going forward and your days are filled and productive.
