Quick Review: The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Body Sorbet

Image
picture from Instagram @laurettas_choice W ith summer around the corner I want to talk about my experience on this body sorbet from The Body Shop. I chose this Pink Grapefruit fragrance as I just love the flavour and scent of pink grapefruit in general and, as you may know already, all The Body Shop's product have a very intense scent so I recommend this one if you really like the flavour you are buying. This body sorbet comes in a 200ml tube and costs £8.50 and it contains cold-pressed pink grapefruit seed oil (👍) First impression is a positive rich and refreshing fragrance. I open the tube and all I can smell is pink grapefruit everywhere 🍊. The consistency of this product is somewhere between a lotion and a gel.  I can't say I love it, but definitely I don't hate it as is quite light and not much product is needed to cover the areas you want to indulge.  It's very easy to apply, but a downside fact is that leaves on a sticky-kind-of-feeling for a whi...

Quick Review: Nivea Silk Mousse

Image
From Instagram @laurettas_choice I bought this Nivea shower mousse, captured by the nice and elegant look of it. This Silk Mousse comes in a 200ml bottle and it costs around £3.00 (but I found it on offer at Superdrug). Like every mousse-like product, you need to shake it before use, or the mousse won't come out as a mousse, but kind of bubble instead and no product will come out. So shake well before use. I found that I didn't need too much of the product as this will smoothly cover your body and is easy to spread. It feels very soft and gentle on the skin as well as very rich. I loved the fragrance of the one I bought, which is 'Creme Smooth', it has a delicate and sweet scent, which stays on your skin not for too long unfortunately, but I use lotions after my shower, so it wouldn't stay long anyway. The feeling after having showered with this Silk Mousse is really nice and I personally felt it was a good product if I want to feel pampered. I ...

How Writing and Reading Helps Me Focus

Image
Books, Notebooks and Laptop - so many ways to keep my brain active W e know London is always so busy and we all get tired at the end of a busy day at work. But, how do I get to do other things and activities, pursue my hobbies while having quite a busy routine? First of all, I need to be willing to 'sacrifice' my lazy moments in order to benefit my hobbies. I know this sounds so easy to say, but how do I actually do it when I feel already sleepy at 9pm? What I like to do in this case is to write things down, maybe as a list of things to do/focus on. I like to write down specific achievements and also give myself a term by which I should have done all the above. For example I would write down something like "go for a walk in the park with the camera and take pictures at least once a month". Write down all your thoughts, it doesn't matter how silly they sound at first This way, I know I don't have to do it today, but I have a specific ti...

3 Products Weekend Make-Up

Image
3 Products Weekend Make-Up O h, finally the weekend! Lately I've been feeling a lot like resting and taking care of myself during the weekend, as I find myself quite busy and socialising during the week. Usually what I like to do is trying some new products, body lotions, face creams and masks and take care of my nails. But, as I am quite an active person, at some point I would 'force' my hubby to get out and go for breakfast or a coffee, or just walk to the shop to get something for lunch. So here it comes my Make-Up no Make-Up that will make you look fresh. I only use 3 products - 4 if we consider some lip balm. * Natural Collection Concealer - I use this to make those under eyes look a tiny bit better and even out the colour of my skin. This is a quite good concealer, considering the price. The texture is liquid and is easy to apply with the brush, no need to use too much product. I usually spread it and tap my under eye skin with my fingers...

Bright Copper Colour Refresh - Maria Nila Review

Image
H ave you ever thought that a change in your hair life is needed but, like me, you came to appreciate your hair and are now afraid of a drastic change? Well, this was me.. and I think it still is me. I really appreciate my hair, specially now that it's glowing and long and all that (one of the positive things of pregnancy!). But still, there were times that I felt like I needed an extra kick and that's why I decided to try something new to me. So, after some research on what kind of colour I could use (I wouldn't have used just any, as I'm pregnant), I found out about this Colour Refresh by Maria Nila . Yes, it's designed for coloured hair, to enhance and brighten up the colour your hair is suppose to have after you've already dyed your hair, but I thought that it could be nice to still give it a go. This product comes in a 300ml small bottle (the design is very modern), and it has all the instruction you need to follow on it, along with all the in...
